The tattoo, which is located on her back, is said to symbolically connect her with her estranged husband, Brad Pitt, in a spiritual manner. The 42-year-old actress proudly flaunts her iconic inkings in the photoshoot, which was shot while she was taking a break from filming her movie First They Killed My Father in Cambodia in February 2016. The tattoo was created by Thai ex-monk Ajarn Noo Kanpai, whom Angelina had flown in for the occasion.
According to reports, Brad Pitt, who is currently 54 years old, has also received a tattoo on the left side of his stomach using the traditional Thai method. This tattoo is believed to symbolize the bond between him and Angelina Jolie as husband and wife. However, the couple announced their separation just seven months later in September 2016. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie received three new mystical sak yant tattoos from the same Thai artist, which consist of script lines, geometric shapes, and animal patterns.
The artist decided to use a traditional approach and utilized steel rods that were fitted with a surgical steel needle. This method is known to be more precise but can also be more painful compared to using a tattoo gun. Brad also opted to get inked by Kanpai during his visit, who had previously tattooed a Buddhist symbol on his left stomach before their separation in September. Angelina looks absolutely gorgeous in her latest campaign where she is seen wearing a white sleeveless dress and crimson red lipstick, highlighting her iconic pout.
