Dua Lipa Slays in Custom Blumarine: A Festival Fashion Masterpiece

Barcelona, Spain has become the ultimate Instagram destination for many popular names in the entertainment industry. A slew of celebrities, including Mimi Moocher, Devon Lee Carlson, Dua Lipa, and Charli XCX, have been spotted in the city over the past week. They all came to attend the Primavera Sound festival, which has returned to the city’s iconic waterside location after a hiatus due to the pandemic. The two-weekend event features headliners such as Tame Impala, Megan Thee Stallion, Lorde, Tyler, the Creator, and the most anticipated performer of the moment, Dua Lipa herself.

In recent months, the 26-year-old singer has been incredibly busy, globe-trotting for her highly anticipated Future Nostalgia world tour. This tour features songs from her album of the same name, which was released during the pandemic. Finally, she got to perform these tracks live for the first time. However, when it came time to headline Europe’s best festival on Thursday night, Lipa chose to mix things up a bit. She altered both her set list and her wardrobe, ditching the Mugler bodysuit she had been wearing for over 60 shows and opting for something more suitable for a festival environment.

Starting her performance with the popular track ‘Physical’, Dua Lipa entertained a huge crowd that had assembled at the main stage of Primavera. Fortunately, we got to witness it all from the luxurious CUPRA VIP area, which offered us great views and plenty of space to showcase our dance moves. During her performance, Lipa rocked a custom-made Blumarine outfit that gave off strong Y2K vibes.

Dua Lipa donned a stunning ensemble that included a sequined corset top in purple, which was complemented by a cowl-neck mini dress in the same color. She added a matching necktie and boots, all in the same vibrant shade. To complete the look, Dua wore a pair of square earrings in purple.

Glitter is a must-have during festivals, and Lipa made sure to include it by applying it to the inner corners of her eyes. She paired this with a purple eyeshadow and finished it off with a bold cat-eye, a look that would make the girlies of Euphoria High proud. Her outfit was a refreshing change from the outfits seen in Coachella earlier this year, which either leaned too heavily towards boho or were so casual that many on TikTok wondered if low-key was the new trend for festival fashion.

Carlson was highlighted as a prime example of the ‘low-key’ festival-goer at Coachella, where she opted for a simple wife beater and loose-fitting pants. She even refrained from posting too much on social media during the event. However, at Primavera Sound, she is embracing fun and funky festival fashion. On the first day, she rocked a zebra-print dress from Realisation Par with knee-high lace-up boots and a flower necklace. Later on, she changed into a pale green mini dress paired with sneakers, orange-lensed sunglasses, a mini Shrimps bag in orange, and blue dog-printed socks to explore the city.

Regan also captured her vibrant and playful festival look by donning a stylish one-shoulder yellow mini dress paired with a pink Diesel belt, matching pink shades and comfortable sneakers perfect for dancing. This year’s Primavera festival took place over two weekends for the first time ever, with plenty of exciting events scheduled in between (including a spectacular performance by Megan thee Stallion). The festival featured all-night dance stages such as the newly added CUPRA x Boiler Room stage, where renowned artists like Kenny Beats and Tygapaw showcased their talents. It’s clear that Primavera festival has proven that festivals are still highly relevant today.

However, it appears that festivals are only truly enjoyable when the focus is on the music and atmosphere rather than solely on taking Instagram photos and creating content. We’re looking at you, Coachella.
